Ingredients:

- 2 bay leaves
- 4 whole cloves
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
- 4 cups water
- Salt, to taste
- Saffron threads soaked in 2 tablespoons warm milk (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the Shrimp:
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee or oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare the Biryani Base:
- In the same skillet, add the remaining ghee or oil.
- Add the cumin seeds, bay leaves, cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
