Spicy Beef Tacos

These Spicy Beef Tacos are a bold, flavorful twist on a classic favorite. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup water or beef broth
  • 8 taco shells or small tortillas
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced avocado
  • Shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey jack, or a blend)
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa or hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the beef and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, coriander, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute, allowing the spices to toast and become aromatic.
  4. Pour in the water or beef broth, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Warm the taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions.
  6. To assemble, spoon the spicy beef mixture into the taco shells. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado, cheese, sour cream, and salsa or hot sauce as desired.
