These chops are juicy on the inside, with a crisp, flavorful crust that’s sure to please. Whether you serve them with a side of pasta, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad, these pork chops make for a delicious and hearty meal that’s easy enough for a weeknight dinner yet special enough for guests.

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Breading Station:
    • In a shallow dish, combine the Italian breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
    • In a second shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
    • Place the flour in a third shallow dish.
  2. Bread the Pork Chops:
    • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with a little salt and pepper.
    • Dredge each pork chop in the flour, shaking off any excess.
    • Dip the floured pork chops into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
    • Press the pork chops into the breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides well. Press firmly to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere.
  3. Cook the Pork Chops:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the breaded pork chops to the skillet.
    • Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the breading is golden brown and the pork chops are cooked through (an internal temperature of 145°F/63°C).
    • If the pork chops are browning too quickly, reduce the heat slightly to ensure they cook through without burning the crust.
  4. Rest and Serve:
    • Transfer the cooked pork chops to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
    • Serve the pork chops with lemon wedges on the side for a bright, fresh touch, if desired.

These Italian Breaded Pork Chops are a flavorful, crispy, and tender dish that’s sure to become a family favorite. The combination of Parmesan, herbs, and crispy breadcrumbs makes each bite satisfying and delicious, perfect for pairing with your favorite Italian-inspired sides.
