Citrus Glazed Salmon

This Citrus Glazed Salmon is a deliciously bright and refreshing dish that is both healthy and bursting with flavor. The tangy citrus glaze combines the zest of oranges and lemons with a touch of honey, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The salmon fillets are seared to perfection, allowing the glaze to caramelize beautifully, enhancing the natural flavors of the fish. This dish is ideal for a quick weeknight dinner yet elegant enough to serve at a special occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the salmon: Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Sear the salmon: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the glaze: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the orange juice, lemon juice, orange zest, lemon zest, honey, garlic, and soy sauce. Stir to combine and cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the mixture thickens into a glaze.
  4. Glaze the salmon: Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the glaze over the fillets. Allow the salmon to simmer in the glaze for an additional 2-3 minutes, coating the fish well.
  5. Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve with your favorite sides, such as steamed vegetables or rice.

Enjoy this fresh and tangy Citrus Glazed Salmon as a flavorful and light meal!
