Brown Sugar Smokies

Brown Sugar Smokies are a crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s perfect for any gathering or party. These little sausages are wrapped in bacon and coated with brown sugar, creating a delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors. The bacon crisps up in the oven, while the brown sugar caramelizes, resulting in a sticky, delicious glaze. They’re easy to make and always a hit with guests!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound bacon, cut into thirds
  • 1 (14-ounce) package of cocktail sausages (such as Lil’ Smokies)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • Toothpicks

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.
  2. Wrap each sausage with a piece of bacon. Secure the bacon with a toothpick if necessary.
  3. Roll each bacon-wrapped sausage in brown sugar, coating it evenly. Place the sausages on the wire rack.
  4. Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar over the top of the sausages.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the sugar has caramelized.
