Beef and Broccoli with Oyster Sauce is a classic stir-fry dish that’s both flavorful and easy to prepare. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (extra for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine (or dry sherry)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, toss the beef slices with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining oil and stir-fry the broccoli for about 3–4 minutes, until bright green and slightly tender. You can add a tablespoon of water to steam the broccoli slightly if needed.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger to the pan and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Return the beef to the pan, then add the oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and beef broth. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce.
  6. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.
  7. Serve the beef and broccoli over rice for a hearty and flavorful meal.
