Ingredients:

  • For the Marinade:
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Stir-Fry:
    • 1 pound beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
    • 1 green bell pepper, sliced into strips
    • 1 small onion, sliced
    • 1 carrot, julienned
    • 1 cup broccoli florets
    • 1/2 cup snow peas
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
    • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
    • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar or honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper.
    • Add the sliced beef to the marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more intense flavor.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • While the beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables by slicing the bell peppers, onion, carrot, and broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Cook the Beef:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
    • Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary. Stir-fry the beef for 2-3 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, carrot, and broccoli. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
    • Add the snow peas and continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Combine and Finish:
    • Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the additional 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and stir to combine.
    • If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the Marinated Beef Stir-Fry hot over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

Enjoy your Marinated Beef Stir-Fry, a deliciously savory and colorful dish that’s perfect for a quick and satisfying meal any night of the week!
