Norwegian Meatballs

Norwegian Meatballs, known as Kjøttkaker, are a traditional and hearty dish that embodies the flavors of Norway. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meatballs:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, nutmeg, ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1-2 inches in diameter.
  2. Cook the Meatballs:

  4. Simmer the Meatballs:
    • Return the meatballs to the skillet with the gravy. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes, lingonberry jam, and steamed vegetables.
