  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Stir in the chili powder, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, tomato paste, hot sauce, and beef broth. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
  5. Add the mixed vegetables to the meat mixture and season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are warmed through.
  6. Transfer the meat and vegetable mixture to a baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Spoon the mashed potatoes on top of the meat layer, spreading them evenly to cover the filling. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Let the pie cool slightly before serving.
