Stromboli Ring

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 6 oz thinly sliced deli meats (ham, salami, pepperoni, etc.)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers or other favorite toppings (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches.
  3. Layer the ingredients: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving about an inch of space around the edges. Evenly layer the deli meats, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and any additional toppings, such as roasted red peppers, on top of the sauce. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  4. Roll the dough: Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log, pinching the seams to seal it. Carefully shape the log into a ring and pinch the ends together to close the circle.
  5. Brush with egg wash: Place the stromboli ring on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with beaten egg to give it a golden crust as it bakes.
  6. Bake: Bake the stromboli ring in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
