Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • Green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef:
    • In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • While the beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables by slicing the bell peppers, julienning the carrot, and cutting the broccoli into small florets.
  3. Make the Stir-Fry Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  4. Cook the Beef:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add the sliced bell peppers, broccoli florets, and julienned carrot. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Combine and Serve:
    • Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the prepared stir-fry sauce. Toss everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the sauce is well combined with the vegetables.
    • Transfer the stir-fry to a serving platter and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
