Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a tall, round cake pan (6 or 8 inches in diameter and at least 4 inches high) or springform pan with olive oil.
  2. Divide the dough: Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a circle that’s slightly larger than your cake pan. This will allow the dough to go up the sides of the pan a bit.
  3. Assemble the first layer: Place the first rolled-out dough circle into the bottom of the prepared cake pan, pressing it slightly up the sides. Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the dough, followed by a generous sprinkle of mozzarella cheese and your choice of toppings. Repeat the process with the remaining dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings, layering each dough circle on top of the previous one.
  4. Top it off: Finish with a final layer of dough, spreading a thin layer of sauce over the top, followed by a final sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake the pizza cake: Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the dough is cooked through and the top is golden and bubbly. If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with foil.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the pizza cake to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes. Carefully run a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the cake, then remove it from the pan. Slice the pizza cake like a regular cake, and serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or oregano if desired.
