No-bake Cake Batter Truffles

No-Bake Cake Batter Truffles are the ultimate treat for anyone who loves the nostalgic flavor of cake batter but wants a quicker, no-bake option. These truffles are soft, sweet, and have that delightful cake batter essence without the hassle of baking. They’re perfect for parties, gift-giving, or just indulging in a little bite-sized treat. The outer chocolate coating adds a satisfying crunch that pairs perfectly with the creamy, cake-like center. Customize them with your favorite sprinkles for a festive touch!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated*)
  • 1 cup yellow cake mix (dry)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (for coating)
  • Sprinkles, for decoration

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract, cake mix, and salt, and mix until combined. Gradually add the flour and milk, alternating between the two, until the mixture resembles cookie dough.
  2. Shape the truffles: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze the balls for about 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  3. Coat the truffles: While the truffles are chilling, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Remove the truffles from the freezer and dip each one into the melted white chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Place them back onto the parchment paper.
  4. Decorate: Before the coating sets, sprinkle the tops of the truffles with colorful sprinkles.
  5. Chill and serve: Let the truffles set in the fridge for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate coating is firm. Serve and enjoy!

*Store these no-bake truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes:

  • *Heat-treating the flour helps kill any potential bacteria. Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes, then let it cool before using.
