Grilled Jalapeños are a smoky, spicy, and flavorful treat that’s perfect for barbecues, game days, or any gathering where you want to add a little heat. Grilling brings out the natural sweetness of the jalapeños while mellowing their heat slightly, creating a delicious contrast. Whether stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon, or simply brushed with olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper, these jalapeños are a versatile and crowd-pleasing appetizer. Serve them alongside grilled meats, in tacos, or as a spicy snack.
Ingredients:
- 12 large jalapeños, halved and seeded
- 4 oz cream cheese (optional for stuffing)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (optional for stuffing)
- 12 slices of bacon, halved (optional for wrapping)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the grill: Heat your grill to medium-high (about 400°F/200°C).
- Prepare the jalapeños:
- For stuffed jalapeños: In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese and shredded cheese until combined. Spoon the cheese mixture into each halved jalapeño. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with half a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
- For plain grilled jalapeños: Brush the halved and seeded jalapeños with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill the jalapeños: Place the prepared jalapeños on the grill, cut side down if not stuffed, or bacon side down if wrapped. Grill for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender and slightly charred.
- Serve: Remove from the grill and serve immediately as an appetizer, snack, or side.
These Grilled Jalapeños, whether plain or stuffed, are a smoky, spicy delight that will add a kick to any meal!
