These Chinese Chicken Wings are perfect for when you’re craving something savory, sticky, and packed with flavor. The wings are marinated in a delicious blend of soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and hoisin sauce, giving them a wonderful balance of salty, sweet, and slightly tangy flavors. They’re then baked until crispy and glazed with a rich sauce that caramelizes beautifully. Whether served as an appetizer or a main dish, these wings are sure to be a hit at any gathering!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, Chinese five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Marinate the wings: Add the chicken wings to the marinade, making sure they’re well coated. Cover the bowl and let the wings marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Bake the wings: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer on the rack. Bake for 35-40 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
  4. Glaze the wings: In a small saucepan, pour the remaining marinade and bring it to a boil. Cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens into a glaze.
  5. Finish the wings: Remove the wings from the oven and brush them with the glaze. Return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize.
  6. Serve: Garnish the wings with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot, with extra glaze on the side for dipping if desired.

Enjoy your Chinese Chicken Wings with a side of steamed rice or as part of a party platter!
