ASPARAGUS BEEF SAUTÉ

Asparagus Beef Sauté is a quick and flavorful dish that brings together tender strips of beef and crisp asparagus in a savory garlic-ginger sauce. This stir-fry is a perfect balance of textures, with the beef providing a juicy, protein-packed element and the asparagus offering a bright, slightly crunchy contrast. The dish is elevated by a simple yet bold sauce made with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and a hint of sweetness. This easy-to-make sauté is ideal for busy weeknights and pairs beautifully with rice or noodles for a wholesome, satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds or green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, and beef broth (or water). If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix in the cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Cook the beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the asparagus: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the asparagus and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until it turns bright green and begins to soften but still retains a slight crunch.
  4. Add garlic and ginger: Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Combine everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef and asparagus.
  6. Serve: Serve the Asparagus Beef Sauté over cooked rice, and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.

This Asparagus Beef Sauté is a quick, nutritious, and flavorful dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights, delivering a delicious mix of savory beef and fresh vegetables in every bite!
