Air-Fryer Puff Pastry Danishes are a delightful treat that combine the flakiness of puff pastry with the sweet and creamy goodness of a rich filling. These danishes are incredibly easy to make and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack. The air fryer crisps up the pastry beautifully, giving you a golden, buttery exterior and a soft, indulgent center. Customize them with your favorite fillings like cream cheese, fruit preserves, or chocolate to make each bite a little piece of heaven.
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup fruit preserves (such as raspberry, strawberry, or apricot)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to remove any creases. Cut the sheet into 6 equal squares.
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
- Assemble the Danishes: Place a heaping tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each puff pastry square. Top with a teaspoon of fruit preserves. Fold the corners of each square towards the center, overlapping slightly, and press gently to seal.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Egg Wash: Brush the edges of each danish with the beaten egg to give them a golden-brown finish.
- Cook the Danishes: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the danishes in the basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the danishes to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
