Ingredients:

For the Fish:

  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod, tilapia, or haddock)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray

For the Tacos:

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • 1/2 cup pico de gallo or salsa
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges for serving

Optional Toppings:

  • Sliced avocado or guacamole
  • Sour cream or Mexican crema
  • Hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Fish:
    • Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and cut them into taco-sized strips.
    • In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, ground cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    • In another shallow bowl, place the beaten eggs.
    • In a third shallow bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat the Fish:
    • Dredge each fish strip in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then coat it with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Air Fry the Fish:
    • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the coated fish strips in a single layer in the basket, making sure they do not overlap. Lightly spray the tops of the fish with cooking spray.
    • Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish is golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with any remaining fish.
  5. Assemble the Tacos:
    • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat or in the microwave until soft and pliable.
    • Place a few pieces of the air-fried fish on each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo or salsa, and fresh cilantro. Add any additional toppings you like, such as avocado, sour cream, or hot sauce.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the fish tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.

Enjoy these Air Fryer Fish Tacos as a delicious, healthy, and easy meal that brings the flavors of the seaside to your dinner table, perfect for any occasion.
