Air-Fryer Egg Rolls

Air-Fryer Egg Rolls are a healthier and equally delicious alternative to traditional deep-fried egg rolls. These crispy, golden rolls are packed with a flavorful filling of seasoned pork, cabbage, and carrots, wrapped in a delicate egg roll wrapper, and cooked to perfection in an air fryer. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or even a light meal, Air-Fryer Egg Rolls are easy to make and sure to be a hit with family and friends. Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb ground pork (or substitute with ground chicken or turkey)
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray
  • Dipping sauce (sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, or your favorite)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground pork until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
    • Add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, green onions, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
    • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the mixture is well combined and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.
  2. Assemble the Egg Rolls:
    • Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface with one corner pointing toward you (like a diamond shape).
    • Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling near the center of the wrapper.
    • Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, then fold in the side corners. Roll up the wrapper tightly, sealing the top corner with a dab of water. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
  4. Cook the Egg Rolls:
    • Lightly spray the egg rolls with olive oil spray or cooking spray on all sides.
    • Arrange the egg rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not touch each other. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
    • Air fry the egg rolls for 10-12 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove the egg rolls from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
