Slow-Cooker Spareribs

These Slow-Cooker Spareribs are perfect for those days when you want a hearty, flavorful meal without spending hours in the kitchen. The slow cooker does all the work, transforming these ribs into tender, fall-off-the-bone perfection. A rich, tangy barbecue sauce infuses the meat with a deep, smoky flavor that will have everyone asking for seconds. Whether you’re preparing a casual family dinner or a weekend feast, these spareribs are sure to impress.

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks of pork spareribs (about 4-5 pounds)
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ribs: Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for more tender meat. Rinse the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the Ribs: In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and chili powder. Rub this spice mixture all over both sides of the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  3. Arrange in the Slow Cooker: Cut the racks of ribs into sections that will fit into your slow cooker. Arrange them in the slow cooker, standing them on their sides if necessary.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture over the ribs in the slow cooker.
  5. Cook the Ribs: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is nearly falling off the bone.
  6. Finish the Ribs: If you like your ribs with a sticky, caramelized exterior, preheat your oven to broil. Carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Brush the ribs with additional barbecue sauce and broil for 3-5 minutes, watching closely, until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized.
  7. Serve: Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before cutting them into individual portions. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side and enjoy!

These ribs pair beautifully with classic sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or cornbread for a complete meal.
