Homemade Graham Crackers

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Cut in Butter: Add the chilled, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, blend the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate small bowl, mix the honey, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Form Dough: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until the dough comes together. You may need to use your hands to form it into a ball.
  6. Roll Out Dough: Lightly flour a surface and roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into squares or rectangles using a knife or a pizza cutter. Transfer the crackers to the prepared baking sheet.
