PEPPER PORK CHOPS

Pepper Pork Chops are a flavorful and savory dish that combines tender, juicy pork chops with the bold, spicy kick of freshly cracked black pepper. This easy-to-make recipe brings out the natural flavor of the pork while adding layers of taste with a peppery crust and a rich, pan-seared exterior. Whether grilled, baked, or pan-fried, these pork chops are perfect for a quick weeknight meal or a special dinner. Serve them with mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables, or a simple salad for a delicious, well-balanced dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns, coarsely ground or freshly cracked
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (optional for deglazing)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (optional for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Season the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix together the ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of each pork chop.
  2. Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the pork chops to the pan, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  3. Cook the Pork Chops: Sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Adjust the heat as necessary to prevent burning. For thicker chops, you may need to lower the heat and cook a few minutes longer.
  4. Optional Deglazing: Once the pork chops are cooked through, remove them from the skillet and set them aside to rest. If desired, deglaze the pan by adding the chicken broth and stirring to scrape up any browned bits. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until the liquid reduces slightly. Swirl in the butter for added richness.
  5. Serve: Spoon the pan sauce over the pork chops (if using) and serve them warm with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your tender and flavorful Pepper Pork Chops, packed with a savory, peppery kick that makes for a perfect meal!
