Ham and Cheese Croissants are a delightful blend of buttery, flaky pastry and savory fillings, perfect for a quick breakfast or a light lunch. These croissants are filled with layers of thinly sliced ham and melted cheese, creating a rich, satisfying bite with each mouthful. They’re easy to make, especially if using store-bought croissant dough, and are sure to become a go-to meal when you’re craving something indulgent yet simple. Serve them fresh out of the oven for a warm, cheesy delight that pairs well with a side salad or even a cup of coffee.
Ingredients:
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (or store-bought croissant dough)
- 8 slices of deli ham
- 8 slices of Swiss or cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
- If using, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each triangle of dough.
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll the dough up from the wide end to the tip, encasing the ham and cheese in a croissant shape. Tuck in the ends slightly to prevent the cheese from leaking out during baking.
- Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet and brush each one with the beaten egg. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your warm and cheesy ham and cheese croissants!
