Pressure-Cooker Teriyaki Pork Roast

Pressure-Cooker Teriyaki Pork Roast is a flavorful fusion of sweet and savory that turns a simple pork roast into a tender, succulent meal with an Asian-inspired twist. The pressure cooker speeds up the process, locking in the rich teriyaki flavors as the pork becomes melt-in-your-mouth tender. The homemade teriyaki sauce made from soy sauce, honey, and garlic brings a perfect balance of sweetness and umami. Serve this with rice and steamed vegetables for a wholesome and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb pork shoulder roast
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Set the pressure cooker to sauté mode and heat the sesame oil. Sear the pork roast on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the pork and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and water.
  3. Return the pork to the pot, making sure it’s fully coated in the sauce.
  4. Seal the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 60 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure.
  5. If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the pork, set the cooker to sauté, and stir in a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water). Cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Slice the pork and serve with the sauce, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Enjoy this tender, flavorful Pressure-Cooker Teriyaki Pork Roast as a delightful centerpiece for any meal!
