HOME FRIES

Home Fries are a classic, comforting side dish that brings crispy, golden potatoes to the table with just the right amount of seasoning. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a side for any meal, these pan-fried potatoes are lightly seasoned with garlic, onions, and paprika, creating a balance of savory flavors. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, home fries are easy to make and versatile, pairing well with eggs, bacon, or even steak for a satisfying addition to any meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and diced into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Parboil the potatoes: Place the diced potatoes in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for 5-6 minutes until the potatoes are just tender but not fully cooked. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened.
  3. Cook the potatoes: Add the parboiled potatoes to the skillet, spreading them in an even layer. Season with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let the potatoes cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes to develop a golden, crispy crust on one side.
  4. Flip and continue cooking: Stir the potatoes and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and crispy. In the last minute, stir in the minced garlic.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.

These Home Fries are crispy, flavorful, and perfect as a side dish for breakfast or any hearty meal!
