Crockpot Mississippi Chicken

Crockpot Mississippi Chicken is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends. This recipe is a variation of the popular Mississippi Pot Roast, featuring tender chicken breasts slow-cooked with a blend of savory flavors. The combination of ranch seasoning, au jus gravy mix, butter, and pepperoncini peppers creates a rich and tangy sauce that pairs beautifully with the succulent chicken. Serve it over mashed potatoes, rice, or with a side of steamed vegetables for a comforting and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 6-8 pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/4 cup pepperoncini juice (optional, for extra tang)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Season the Chicken: Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken breasts.
  3. Add Butter and Peppers: Place the stick of butter on top of the chicken, then arrange the pepperoncini peppers around the chicken. If you prefer a tangier flavor, pour in the pepperoncini juice as well.
  4. Cook: Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
  5. Serve: Once done, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks, and mix it well with the sauce. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or with your favorite sides.

Enjoy the savory and slightly spicy flavors of this Crockpot Mississippi Chicken!
